What should a cigar humidor be set at?

Cigars need to be stored in an environment with a relative humidity of about 70% and a temperature of about 20°C.

Generally, distilled water is used for moisturizing, and the cigar box is opened once a week to let fresh air in and control its temperature and humidity. Keep it away from heat and keep it in the coolest part of your home. When placing cigars in the humidor, it should be noted that some space should be reserved on the back and the top, and the cigars should not be close to the back and the top. Usually cigars need to be raised for at least 4 to 5 years before smoking.

The most taboo thing about growing cigars is the change of high humidity and large temperature. After this change, you won’t be able to smoke the multi-layered flavor changes in Cuban cigars. Even if the “dry cigars are rescued, they will not reach 70% of the taste of the year.

There is a professional constant humidity system in King cave cigar humidor, which can automatically collect water molecules in the air to achieve the humidification function through evaporation of water molecule evaporator without adding water; when the humidity exceeds the set value, start the dehumidification system to remove the humidity in the cabinet , the whole system is little affected by temperature during the dehumidification and humidification process to meet the precise requirements.

Note that the only way to prevent cigar worms is to rely on temperature control. The scientific name of cigar worms is Lasioderma serricorne, which is a tropical pest. The eggs of this pest need to be hatched successfully under certain high temperature conditions, which is generally around 80 degrees Fahrenheit (26.6 degrees Celsius). Therefore, during the storage of cigars, the temperature should not exceed 26 degrees. In order to be more safe, it will be adjusted down by one degree. As long as the storage temperature of cigars does not exceed 25 degrees, the problem of cigar bugs will basically not appear.

If unfortunately cigar bugs are found, the treatment method can be as follows:

1. Eliminate those irreparable cigars. If a cigar is riddled with holes, give up the cigar.

2. Check the cigars carefully, and take out any small holes found on the surface of the cigars.

3. Spread a piece of white paper on the table, put the cigars with holes in the surface on the white paper one by one and lightly “dip” a few times, and the tobacco leaves and cigar worms will fall out.

4. Pack these cigars in a sealed bag and put them in the refrigerator for two to three days at low temperature. Around zero temperature can completely kill cigar bugs and cigar bug eggs.

5. For those cigars in the same box without holes, it is best to put them in sealed bags and put them in the refrigerator for a day or two.

6. The cigar box needs to be cleaned. You can use a clean cloth slightly dipped in pure water to wipe the inside and outside of the humidor, and then use it normally.

Before the cigar worms hatch, cigar buyers will never know whether their cigars contain cigar worm eggs. After the cigar buyers get the finished cigars, there is no way to remove the cigar worm eggs. The only thing they can do is to maintain a good enough storage environment First, do not let the temperature of the cigar exceed the incubation temperature of cigar eggs, even if the cigar contains eggs, let the cigar eggs dormant indefinitely in the cigar.
